Debi (lead vocals, guitar, bodhran) and Megan (vocals, electric bass) are the Smith Sisters. With Al Petteway suporting them on vocals and guitar, they recorded this album live at the Birchmere in the Washington DC area. Performing together since 1981, the Smiths' show embodies a blend of original, traditional, and country-folk tunes interspersed with warm, humorous interaction with each other and their audience. They have recorded six albums: four for Flying Fish, which feature instrumentalists Doc & Merle Watson, Mark O'Connor, Sam Bush, T. Michael Colemen and Al Petteway, among others, and two for the childrens' label, American Melody (both of which have won Parents' Choice and American Library awards). Debi's original songs have received national recognition in Billboard and she's won ASCAP songwriter awards. Debi Smith also records and tours on her own, as well as with sister Megan, is a member of the infamous Four Bitchin' Babes along with Christine Lavin, Sally Fingerett and Megon McDonough. Debi's first solo Amerisound release is In My Dreams (1997).
