Ruth Brown is one of the great voices of our time, a singer with deep roots in the R&B firmament who, at age 70, is at the peak of her communicative powers. A 1997 Grammy nominee and W.C. Handy Award winner, Ruth returns with this new set of songs that explores the territory between jazz and the blues, moving from the classic ballad sound of 'Never Let Me Go' to her humorous rendition of the traditional 'Cabbage Head.' Recorded in New Orleans with an all-star band, with arrangements by Wardell Quezergue, Victor Goines and Bill Easley. Through her touring, her high media profile and her work with the Rhythm and Blues Foundation, Ruth continues to be one of the most visible figures in R&B today. Produced by Scott Billington.
