This is the album that brought Clarence 'Gatemouth' Brown back to the driving, big band Texas blues style that initially brought him fame in the 1950s. Gate plays guitar and violin over swinging charts by Bill Samuel, Stanton Davis, Jr. and other arrangers. The exquisite slow blues 'Sometimes I Slip' is a highlight of his career (with a great tenor sax solo by New Orleans legend Alvin 'Red' Tyler), while his reworking of Albert Collins' 'Frosty' is irresistible. 1982 Grammy Award winner.
