This is Rory Block's twelfth album on Rounder: her music, her playing and her vision deepen and grow with each release. Since the release of her first Rounder record, Rory has been recognized as the finest contemporary purveyor of acoustic country blues. But Rory is also a sensitive and original writer of songs whose topics range beyond the traditional blues fare. For this album Rory's originals include songs about love the second time around, an unwed teenage mother, ideal love and the tour de force 'A Father and Two Sons' -- a song originally commissioned (and made into a stunning video) by the American Bible Society, based on the parable of the Prodigal Son.
