This is the second CD American violinist Robert McDuffie has made for Telarc, having previously recorded Viennese Violin, CD-80402, with Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra.
Canadian pianist Jon Kimura Parker recently returned to his native country on a tour with a group of other Canadian pianists, known as Piano Six. The group's mission is to perform in places that rarely or never have concerts.
This stellar recording is the second to be released featuring the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra under Yoel Levi playing the music of Samuel Barber. The previous release, CD-80250, included a performance of Knoxville: Summer of 1915, the Adagio, and the Essays for Orchestra Nos. 1 and 2.
