The young Belgian tenor saxophonist and flutist Bobby Jaspar was one of the first European musicians of the post-bebop generation to be accepted as a full-fledged member of the U.S. jazz community. A strong player with Lester Young and Sonny Rollins tendencies, Jaspar had developed an individual style by the time he moved to New York in 1956. A year later, he recorded this album with George Wallington, a founding father of bop piano, and veteran trumpeter Idrees Sulieman. In the rhythm section, along with bassist Wilbur Little, was Detroit drummer Elvin Jones, like Jaspar new in town and on the verge of a successful career.
