We play the old style, natural zydeco,' says Boozoo Chavis, ì 'it's got a different accent to it, and it makes people pay ì attention. Makes 'em go wild.' Boozoo is a true American ì original and the originator of the heavily-syncopated, ì Afro-Caribbean strain of zydeco so popular with younger bands in ì South Louisiana today--except that Boozoo had a head start, since ì he's been putting it on record since 1954. Boozoo's zydeco is as ì raucous and rollicking as music gets. This 1993 recording was ì produced by NRBQ's Terry Adams.
