Luther 'Guitar Junior' Johnson played in Big Mama Thornton's band in the 1960s, and in Muddy Waters' band in the '70s, before fronting his own band in the '80s and '90s. He has all the best traits of classic Chicago blues -- raw, blistering vocals, wicked guitar leads, and rock-solid rhythm; his style incorporates the classic elements of South Side blues with the soul-oriented influences of Magic Sam and the West Side Chicago style. This album, recorded in 1993, was Johnson's third for Bullseye.
