Frontéjas is a heartfelt labor of love, inspired by and dedicated to Tish's mother Cuquita, who was a renowned singer in her home village of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. But Frontéjas is no museum piece - it has all the spit, dust, and fire of the real Frontera. Sung entirely in Spanish (except for the duet with Asleep at the Wheel's Ray Benson), Hinojosa makes a statement at once deeply personal and as wide open as the West. The album also features Flaco Jimenez and Brave Combo's Carl Finch.
