Tau and Rose Moe, both age 80 when this album was made, were the last of the original generation of Hawaiian musicians. In 1928, they left Hawaii for a world tour lasting 57 years. (Their 1929 recordings are a glimpse into the Hawaiian music of the 19th century.) In 1988, the Moe family and Bob Brozman recorded this album of genuine Hawaiian music as it was played 60 years earlier, making for a timeless and wonderful listening experience.
