Little Jimmy King is one of the most charismatic of the new blues guitar wildmen. Born in south Memphis as Manuel Gales, he was given the first half of his name because his playing so resembled Jimi Hendrix's (an impression that can't be hurt by Jimmy also being a left-handed guitarist who plays a right-handed Stratocaster 'upside down'). The last half of his name was a gift from his mentor and adopted grandfather Albert King, for whom Jimmy played second guitar for a couple of years. Albert brought Jimmy to the attention of Bullseye producer Ron Levy, and this hot debut album is the result.
