D.L. Menard's two previous Rounder albums found him bridging ì country and Cajun, something he does better than anyone else in ì the world. However, there's plenty of pure, unvarnished ì traditional Cajun in D.L. as well, and that's what this 1988 ì recording showcases. The tunes are nearly all two-steps and ì waltzes, and performed by a basic Cajun trio: D.L.'s guitar and ì vocals; Ken Smith's fiddle; and accordionist Eddie LeJeune on ì some tracks and Blackie Forestier on the rest. Recorded in the ì heart of Cajun country, at La Louisianne Studios in Lafayette.
