When Pulitzer- and Tony-winning playwright Tony Kushner ('Angels in America') decided to do an adaptation of the classic Yiddish stageplay 'The Dybuk,' he collaborated with none other than The Klezmatics. The resulting musical score makes up much of the 1997 release Possessed. The album reached #1 on the College Music Journal World Music Chart, and #3 on the European World Music Sales Chart. Guest artists include John Medeski (of Medeski Martin & Wood), eclectic Canadian rock band Moxy Fruvous, and vocalist Adrienne Cooper. Produced by Robert Musso.
