Preacher Jack's unstoppable boogie woogie combines a demon left hand with an equal love of rock `n' roll, gospel & country. This album draws from Jack's sessions for Rounder in the early `80s. Whether solo (as on most of these tracks) or leading a band featuring Sleepy LaBeef on guitar and a rhythm section borrowed from fan/champion George Thorogood, Jack alternatingly swings through the classic boogie woogie styles of Albert Ammons and Jimmy Yancey and blasts through songs made famous by fifties heroes Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino and Hank Williams.
