Tony Rice, Larry Rice, Chris Hillman and Herb Pedersen -- a true supergroup -- first met as part of the Southern California bluegrass/folk scene in the 1960s, and individually went on to become members of such bands as the Byrds, the Flying Burrito Brothers, J.D. Crowe & the New South, Country Gazette and the Desert Rose Band. On this album, they explore their shared passion for bluegrass and a broad range of acoustic country-related music, with a balance of originals (four new songs by Hillman and two by Larry Rice) and covers of such comfortable classics as the Grateful Dead's 'Friend of the Devil' and Mike Brewer's 'Hearts Overflowing.'
