Brent Dowe, Tony Brevette and Trevor McNaughton were the Melodians, as soulful a reggae vocal trio as ever recorded. They met in 1963, and soon were recording for some of the finest reggae labels in the business: Studio One, Duke Reid's Treasure Isle, and Sonia Pottinger's High Note. The tracks here (from the Treasure Isle and High Note labels) are classics; recorded between the late '60s and mid-'70s they constitute a crucial piece of reggae history.
