Bill Clifton's early recordings embody much of what was ì compelling about 1950s bluegrass. Like Bill Monroe, the Stanley ì Brothers and Flatt and Scruggs, Bill Clifton had a deep affinity ì for the music of earlier generations. He spent countless hours ì searching out songs that were nearly forgotten and brought them ì back to life. Accompanying musicians include Ralph Stanley, ì Benny Martin, and Mike Seeger.
