The Pod is the second studio album and often considered the most difficult work that the controversial and masterful band, Ween ever produced. The songs on the album come from two tapes recorded in the span of a year in Dean and Gene Ween’s apartment “The Pod,” located on a horse farm in Solebury Township, Pennsylvania. The duo’s uniquely characteristic use of drum machines is demonstrated unmistakably on these recordings as is their use of pitch-tweaked guitars and vocals. Originally released in 1991, the album includes 23 tracks filled with Ween’s signature twisted sense of humor as well as uncanny ability to cross over vast musical boundaries both between and within songs.
