The Speed of the Old Long Bow is a collection of new recordings of compositions by legendary fiddler Ed Haley arranged and performed by John Hartford (fiddle) with Bob Carlin (banjo), Mike Compton (mandolin), Robert Gately (string bass) and Darren Vincent (guitar/percussion). The musicians keep each tune fresh with ever-changing textures, rhythms and harmonies -- resulting in brand new old-time sounds. It's a labor of love that does justice to all concerned.
