The Water Lily was my first album, the one that began my recording career. My good fortune was in being paired with musicians Abby Newton and Jay Ungar, who took the music I had in my heart and framed it with their own beautiful accompaniment. Thank you, Abby and Jay, for the great start and a wonderful musical journey.' --Priscilla Herdman Philo is proud to reissue The Water Lily, the debut album by Priscilla Herdman, originally released in 1977. The lyrics to the songs on the album are by Australia's poet laureate Henry Lawson, set to the music of Priscilla Herdman and others. Priscilla's strikingly beautiful singing is accompanied by her own guitar, and by Jay Ungar on fiddle and mandolin, and Abby Newton on cello.
