Trombone wizard Frank Rosolino (1926-1978) intended this inspired 1958 session as proof that California's jazz giants knew their hard bop. It went unissued for nearly 30 years, robbing us of superior playing by such "West Coast" stalwarts as the leader (a Detroit native), Texan Harold Land, and Great Britain's Victor Feldman, all of whom cook like Greenwich Village regulars.
