The Grupo Aymara was founded in La Paz, Bolivia in 1972 by Bolivian Aymara musicians. With six members (living variously in Bolivia, France, New York City and California) their goal has been to spread awareness and stimulate appreciation and conservation of the native music of the Bolivian Highlands. This album was recorded in concert at the Triplex Theater, NYC on November 26, 1988.
