The Dreadful Snakes started just for fun: banjo virtuoso Bela Fleck wanted an informal bluegrass group to pick with when he was off the road. Dobro legend Jerry Douglas signed on, and the boys got on the horn to fiddler Blaine Sprouse, guitarist Pat Enright, mandolinist Roland White, and bassist Mark Hembree. They caught on in Nashville, and in 1984 recorded this album of stellar and exuberant bluegrass.
