Trudy Pitts may hail from Philadelphia, the Hammond B-3 capitol of the universe, but she doesn't sound like any other organ player on the planet. A classically trained pianist with a B.A. from Juilliard, Pitts brought to the B-3 an array of warm and often sinewy timbres more akin to the church pipe organ she played as a girl than to the shrill tones produced by her inner-city cocktail lounge contemporaries.
